Ryan Hsieh
I’m Ryan, a high school student passionate about dentistry and medicine. In 2022, I worked as a research assistant at China Medical University, where I analyzed intraoral scans and tooth movement by using 3D modeling software in my research on the different types of invisalign attachment shape. I also co-authored a resilience psychology study at the Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology, which was also presented at the SOPHE 2025 Annual Conference.
A defining experience for me was joining Taipei Medical University’s dental volunteer program in Nepal. Over the course of the mission, I assisted dentists in providing oral health education and checkups to rural communities, helping educate more than 500 students on the basics of oral health across three schools and monasteries. This opportunity reinforced my commitment to dentistry as a way to expand access to essential healthcare and inspired me to pursue a dental career.
I value learning, volunteering, and collaboration. In my free time, I enjoy playing the French horn and Chess both casually and competitively.
